The Process

From Harvest to Product

When we walk the land, we observe what is happening, choosing plants at their peak of potency and taking only what is needed so the grove continues to flourish. No two batches of botanical products are treated the same, but every batch follows a defined process.

That process begins before anything is brought inside. Timing, weather, plant maturity, and surrounding growth all guide what is gathered and when. Each harvest reflects what the land is offering in that moment, and the path forward is chosen from there.

Once harvested, materials are sorted and prepared based on their structure and intended use. Some move toward oils and salves, others toward teas, bath products, or crafted goods. Each plant determines its direction based on how it can be used fully and with purpose.

Drying is done using traditional methods of drying herbs only. Herbs are air dried with time and patience, allowing moisture to leave the plant naturally without forcing the process. This preserves structure, color, and potency in a way that faster methods cannot replicate, and it sets the foundation for everything that follows.

From there, materials move into their next phase. Infusions are developed over time and monitored daily. Dried herbs are prepared for teas and storage. Other plant materials are set aside for bath blends, wax-based products, and crafted pieces that extend their usefulness beyond a single form.

Blending and finishing bring each batch into its final state. Oils, waxes, and other materials are combined in measured ratios, guided by both the intended use and the character of that specific batch. Because no harvest is identical, this stage remains responsive rather than fixed.

Throughout the entire plant harvesting process, materials are kept separate and fully traceable. Each batch is tracked from the moment it begins, monitored daily, and adjusted as it moves through each stage. This allows consistency to be maintained while still honoring the natural variation that comes from the land.

The work also extends beyond the homestead. Community plays a role in how materials and skills move through the process. Bartering is a natural part of that exchange, allowing goods, knowledge, and services to circulate in a way that supports both the work and the people around it. This creates a system that is not isolated, but connected and mutually supportive.

The process continues to grow with each season. As the land provides more, new herbal products and crafts are introduced, and existing methods are refined. The work begins simply and expands over time, following what becomes available rather than forcing what is not. Each season brings something different, and that progression is part of the system itself.
